National Storytelling Initiative

Passages Canada is a national storytelling initiative. Volunteers share their personal accounts of cultural identity and heritage on-line in their multimedia Story Archive and in person with schools and community groups across the country. Since 2002, over 900 speakers have created dialogue on Canada's rich diversity with over 250,000 youth and adults, as they continue to build understanding and respect for Canada’s shared history and values.

They are currently looking folks in Lloydminster who might be interested in sharing their personal stories of cultural identity and heritage with local students. They have received a request from a Canadian History teacher in Lloydminster who would love to welcome one or more speakers to his class on any themes related to cultural identity and heritage. This could mean someone who has a story of immigration to Canada, it could mean a long-standing Canadian who identifies strongly with a certain heritage, or anything in between.

If you know anyone who might be interested in this opportunity to share their personal story with youth, please feel free to put them in touch with:
