Joe Vickers lives life in seasonal rotation. He is a grain grower on
the family farm by summer and during the winters he commits himself to
touring and the craft of songwriting. The travelling troubadour has
logged countless miles sharing his songs with anyone willing to listen.
He has toured across Canada extensively as the front man for folk punk
group, Audio/ Rocketry and has backpacked across Europe with his guitar
and a bag full of merch, playing everywhere from all-night bars to punk
squats while utilizing all means of transportation from trains to
hitchhiking. Over the years, Vickers has shared the stage with traveling
artists of a similar mind, from Trampled by Turtles to The Strumbellas
and The Rural Alberta Advantage to Austin Lucas. With the release of a
new EP, the Cowboy Coffee Tour will bring Vickers to the Root for a
matinee performance of songs and storytelling on the afternoon of
Saturday October 10th.
