A locally curated exhibit – World Wars –
will make its debut on Thursday, Oct. 9. Through extensive
collaboration between LCSC, Lloydminster Regional Archives and Lashburn
Centennial Museum Inc., World Wars will feature a wide range of
unique memorabilia, photos, artwork, letters and rare local items. The
exhibit was created in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of First
World War and the 75th anniversary of the Second World War. The opening
reception for World Wars will include complementary hors
d'oeuvres, live music and a brief program featuring Mayor Rob Saunders.
Contemporary artwork created in commemoration of the First World War
and Second World War anniversaries will also be on display from local
artists including Allyx Nakonechny, Amelia MacLauchlan and Graham Flatt.
The opening reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Limited tickets are available for the World Wars opening
reception. Tickets can be purchased at LCSC (all forms of payment),
Lloydminster Regional Archives (cash and cheque) and the root: community
emporium (cash). Tickets are $20. Beverage tickets will be available
for purchase at the opening reception.
World Wars will remain on display at LCSC until Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014. Regular admission applies.
